Developed by Scott Whitley a professional gigging bassist (Big Country and formerly The Animals) the SWB-1 Scott Whitley Signature is designed to be a professional gigging bassists short scale bass.

Traditionally ‘short scale bass’ has largely been associated with student basses and limited, muddy tones – not any more! The SWB-1 Scott Whitley Signature is a professional, modern-sounding short scale bass affordable to everyone.

The SWB-1 Scott Whitley Signature is an incredibly flexible bass and suits any style of playing – from growly traditional through to scooped, hi-fi slap tones and everything in between. Made of Ash, with a choice of finishes it is an active (with genuine EMG EQ system) with a passive tone that is also an active/passive switch. So there’s an SWB-1 to suit everyone. The angled pickups make for a more natural transition from low to high strings – the low strings stay nice and focused whilst keeping the higher strings fuller-sounding.

The 30.75” scale & beautifully slim yet substantial neck feel instantly easy & natural to play without stretching. The high mass chrome bridge provides 18mm string spacing which aids faster, easier playing without feeling too unfamiliar when coming from the 19mm spacing used on most bigger basses. The simple yet elegant body shape is extremely comfortable with its smooth rounded edges. Fully set up ready to play.

Featuring a mahogany body with an ingeniously designed drop shoulder and offset heel to provide improved access to the upper frets, the VS4 Bass not only provides thudding bottom end, but allows you to venture up to the dusty reaches of the 20 fret mahogany set neck too.

The instrument's bass response and lower register harmonics are maximised by the inclusion of a Graphtech nut, while a set of Wilkinson WJBL200 machine heads keep your tuning locked in for the night.

The VS4 is outfitted with a set of chrome double coil pickups; a jumbo double coil at the neck and a mini double coil in the bridge position. The smooth and rounded tones at the neck are contrasted by the cut and thrust of the bridge pickup, which provides enough articulation and clarity to put you centre stage for your bass solos, ready to rock and roll whenever you are.

Up for sale is this early 60s (rare 6 bolt neck-join) FALCON short scale bass. The bass is in really great vintage condition, with some minor Dinks on the bottom of the bass - Everything is original!

This bass is a total joy to play. The shorter than usual (24.75") guitar scale make it super easy to play, and the woody tone is to die for! came into the shop with its flatwound strings which I personally love the sound of so kept them on, plus I think it’s kept the frets from having anywhere on them...Amazing!

These basses don't come up too often (this is currently the only one listed on Reverb)!

Case: Comes with a gig bag. Condition: Excellent with a couple of small dings.

The Peavey T-40 was one of the brand's first bass designs ever, the T-40 is solid, heavy, built like a tank and can consequently take a beating, great for touring/on the road. The T-40 bass sports two Toaster-style pickups and two switches, amongst many other appointments. This bass can produce so many tones, with an almost bell like quality, each note sounds like you're striking piano wire. Not only does this bass have an incredible open tone, but it recreates a Rickenbacker 4003 and 4001 to a shockingly accurate amount. This bass I bought 25 years ago now and I'm selling it from my private stock. Comes with its manual, certificate, black and white leather strap, cling-film/pick guard control 'what does what' guide, thumb-rest and plush-lined hard case. If you look closly at the back of the guitar there is a paint/lacquer crack (see close-up photo) though quite common on older instruments it is a surface crack and doesn't hinder the playability, feel or sound. - After taking this photo I gave it a restring, service and a full set-up! Special request setups are also available, please contact when purchasing.
